Description
Octave is a full-quality music player for iPhone and iPad.
• Full-length streaming up to lossless
• Offline downloads
• Word-by-word karaoke lyrics
• Sing — real vocal separation, not just centre-channel cancellation
• Home-Screen and Lock-Screen widgets, Control Centre controls and Siri
• Listening parties, collaborative playlists and public profiles
• Podcasts from Apple's own catalogue
Not on the App Store. Sideload it and sign it with your own Apple ID.
A note on widgets. Top Charts, Made For You and Live Radio work on every install — they read the catalogue directly and need nothing from the app. Now Playing, Recently Played and Pinned show what you're actually listening to, which reaches them through an App Group.
If those three widgets read "Widget data is locked", your signer dropped the group instead of rewriting it. The other three keep working regardless.
Change Log
Until now, Octave proved it was the real app with a key built into the app itself, and anyone who unpacked the app could copy that key and use it from a script or another app. 9.1.2 adds a check that can't be copied: Octave makes a key inside your iPhone's Secure Enclave and uses Apple's App Attest to show our servers that it lives on a real Apple device, in an app with Octave's identity. You don't have to do anything, and the player, downloads and settings are the same as in 9.1.1. Once the check is switched on, versions before 9.1.2 will stop streaming, so update now; it installs over your current version and your library, playlists and downloads stay where they are. If your install can't run the check, Octave will tell you, and octavestreaming.com keeps working in your browser.
